From the shadows of Tiger Stadium, a new artist is breaking onto the scene in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Tyler Watson has emerged organically like an alligator from the swamp to claim a spot in the talented art realm of south Louisiana. He is a self-taught artist who creates and sells his original artwork. Many of his themes involve his beloved LSU Tigers, where his son studies computer science. His specialty is drawing original eyes with LSU themes embedded in the pupil. He also enjoys drawing Lions to support his daughter, who plays softball for Southeastern Louisiana University. He takes pride in his work and is working on taking that last step to a professional career. After a career in accounting, he began to focus on self-actualization and expression through his art. Inspired by artists like Chuck Black and Jono Dry, Tyler continues to work diligently towards his dream. He specializes in charcoal, graphite, and colored pencils. He also paints using both oil and acrylic mediums.
